But a constant focus on the positives and negatives of the drone program in Pakistan does little to address the real issues surrounding its use. The more compelling issue is: what’s the alternative? Yes, the drone program has sapped much of al Qaeda’s energy in the tribal areas, but it has also sparked torrents of anti-Americanism.
